Tumble Down Giving Exceeds 15K

So we’ve been doing this for a little while now and are very proud of the small role we play in building a bridge between the energy and spirit of the Twiddle community with organizations doing the real heavy lifting. In the case of Tumble Down we focused our fundraising on 3 organizations on the frontline of the opioid crisis – Howard Center, Turning Point Center of Chittenden County and the NICU at UVM Children’s Hospital. We know this is old news … so why are we bring it up now? Well, our dear Frends at Fiddlehead Brewing Company announced before Tumble Down that all profits from the sale of Relax & Dream, their Twiddle inspired American Pale Ale, would be donated to WLF to help us support the 3 charities … and we recently received the check. We invite you to “raise your glasses to the sky” as we toast everyone at Fiddlehead for their incredible generosity. With their contribution of an amazing $7,400+ we are thrilled to announce that our total fundraising from Tumble Down will exceed $15,000 and we will be donating over $5,000 to each of the three charities. Yeah … we Love Fiddlehead Relentlessly.

Orlando’s Bar / Robert Banks Trio

Recently the Robert Banks Trio (or all 4 members of Twiddle) visited Orlando’s Bar for an intimate performance that raised $2,700 on behalf of White Light Founation to help local organizations combat the opioid crisis. It is an honor to support the Howard Center and Turning Point of Chittenden with this donation. Special thanks to CashorTrade for selling tickets to the event and to Chris Prinos for helping us break through our $2,500 goal through sales of his event stickers.

White Light Scholarship at Castleton University

As psyched as we are for the upcoming Paramount Theatre shows, it is the impact these shows will make that really has us excited. With Twiddle, we are proud to support Castleton University students by creating two annual scholarships and contributing to a very special existing scholarship.

It is our honor to support The Sam Forrest Scholarship. A dear Frend of the band and inspiration for Ryan’s, Purple Forrest, Sam was taken from the community too early. Her family created the The Sam Forrest scholarship in her name. The scholarship is for students who have reached sophomore status, have financial need and carry a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. We plan to contribute at least $5,000 to extend its funding and Sam’s legacy.

Second, it is our distinct pleasure to create the Bronze Fingers Scholarship. The Bronze Fingers Scholarship will be awarded to students who have reached sophomore status, are music majors, have financial need and are in academic good standing. We plan to contribute at least $7,500 to establish the scholarship and fund it for the next 5 years.

Finally, in honor of Twiddle’s original mascot and Ryan’s Castleton pet, as well as all those in the Twiddle community who not only leave no trace but make the world a better place, the Luvaduck Scholarship will be awarded to students who have reached sophomore status, are in academic good standing and have contributed to their Castleton community in meaningful ways through volunteerism or social action. We plan to contribute at least $7,500 to establish the scholarship and fund it for the next 5 years.

We are grateful to our sponsors, Martin Guitar, Killington Resort and Fiddlehead Brewing Company along with GoodWorks Entertainment, and to everyone who has helped support the White Light Foundation. For those of you unable to attend the show who would like to support the scholarship you can donate to WLF directly through whitelightfoundation.org or purchase a Graduation Frankie Pin from twiddlemusic.com when they drop online after the Rutland shows.
